Restrictions in use:- If you are considering requesting to use the Keep for a function or event the following restrictions/considerations may apply:

  • No damage may be caused to the fabric of the building .No nails can be knocked in to hang anything on and no cellotape or blue tac can be used. The floor of designated bar area(s) will be suitably covered.
  • A member of Staff must always be present throughout the function/event.
  • There are no toilet facilities within the Keep. Porta Loos may be required.
  • Numbers of persons attending an event are normally restricted to 200 (100 for theatrical performances).
  • There are no kitchen facilities at the Keep, however most caterers cope with the facilities made available to them.
  • The Theatre and Entertainment Licences expire at 11pm. Events lasting beyond this time must be authorised by the Local Authority.
  • Any pay bar must have a Justices Occasional Licence. A licensee may make application for this. At least 4 weeks should be allowed for this process. Events will normally terminate not later than 12 midnight.
  • No alco pops are allowed as spillage damages polished flooring.
  • Equipment brought to the Keep for an event, unless otherwise agreed will be removed on conclusion of the event.
  • Some events may require additional insurance cover.
